Quest

20 issues · 1955–1959

The journal of ideas sponsored by the Indian Committee for Cultural Freedom, launched in August 1955 under Nissim Ezekiel and later edited by Abu Sayeed Ayyub and Amlan Datta. Bi-monthly at first and quarterly from 1958, it carried literary criticism, philosophy and political argument, and gave the Indian liberal intelligentsia its most serious forum for debating Marxism, nationalism and the modern condition.
